Legal & Policies

Last updated: October 5, 2026 · Version 2.3

Who we are. PetCares (petcares.co.in) is operated by ANSYS, a business based in India:
Jhinjhak, Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh 209302, India
Email: care@petcares.co.in
We are an Indian business selling digital guides to customers in the United States. Prices are in US dollars (USD).

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026 · Version 2.3

This policy explains what personal information PetCares ("we", "us") collects when you visit petcares.co.in or buy one of our digital PDF guides, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Information you give us at checkout: your name, email address, phone number and US state. We use your name and state on your invoice, and your email address to deliver your guide. We use your phone number for payment processing, fraud prevention and order support.
  • Order information: what you bought, the price in USD, the date, your order and invoice numbers, and which version of these policies you accepted.
  • Payment information: payment is taken by our payment processor, Razorpay, on its own secure page. We do not receive or store your full card number. Razorpay tells us whether the payment succeeded, the amount and currency, a payment reference and the payment method type (for example, "card").
  • Technical and security information: a one-way hash of your IP address (not the address itself) and your browser's user agent, used for rate-limiting, fraud prevention and to protect purchased files from unauthorized sharing; and a log of each download of your files.
  • Advertising measurement data, only if you accept advertising cookies — see "Meta Pixel" below.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, precise geolocation, or other sensitive personal information, and we do not ask for your postal address.

Why we use it

  • To process your order, take payment, deliver your guide and send your invoice.
  • To answer your questions and handle refunds.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorized redistribution of our guides.
  • To keep the business, accounting and tax records we are required to keep.
  • If you accept advertising cookies, to measure how well our Facebook and Instagram ads work.

Who we share it with

  • Razorpay (payment processor) — your name, email, phone number and the order amount, to take your payment (we fill in your phone number in Razorpay's payment window so you don't have to type it again). When you press pay, Razorpay's secure payment window opens on our checkout page; anything you enter there (such as your card details or phone number) goes to Razorpay and is governed by Razorpay's privacy policy.
  • Our hosting and email provider (Hostinger) — our website, database and order emails run on its servers. Our typefaces are served from our own website, not from a third party.
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. — only if you press Accept on our cookie banner (see below).
  • Authorities or advisers — where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, for example to respond to fraud.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising unless you have opted in through the cookie banner.

Meta Pixel (advertising measurement)

We use the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., to measure how well our ads work. It is loaded only if you press Accept on our cookie banner, and never if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. If you accept, Meta receives technical information about your visit — the page viewed, your browser and IP address, Meta's own cookie identifiers — and these events: page viewed, product viewed, checkout started, add-on selected, payment started, and purchase completed with its order value in US dollars. A purchase is reported only after our server has verified the payment.

So that a purchase is not missed when your browser blocks or closes the page, our server also reports that same purchase directly to Meta (Meta's Conversions API), with your IP address, browser user agent, Meta's browser identifiers (_fbp/_fbc) and the order value. This server-side report follows the same choice: it is sent only if you had accepted before starting checkout. Your IP address is kept for this purpose only until the report is sent, and never longer than 7 days. We never send your name, email address, phone number or state to Meta. If you decline, or have not answered, nothing is sent to Meta by your browser or by our server. Meta's use of this data is governed by Meta's own privacy policy.

Cookies and similar technologies

See our Cookie Policy for the full list and how to change your choice.

How long we keep it

Order, payment, invoice and download records are kept for 7 years from the order date for accounting, tax and fraud-prevention purposes, then securely deleted unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Download links stop working after 30 days. Security logs are kept only as long as they are needed for that purpose.

Where your information is processed

We are based in India, and your information is processed in India and in the other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries' data-protection laws may differ from the laws of your state.

Security

Payments are handled by Razorpay, not on our servers. Our site uses HTTPS, download links are unique to each order and stored only in hashed form, and access to order data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Our site and guides are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Purchases must be made by an adult (see our Terms of Service). If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email care@petcares.co.in and we will delete it.

Your choices

  • Decline or withdraw advertising cookies at any time from the Cookie Policy.
  • Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, by emailing care@petcares.co.in. We may need to keep some records (for example, invoices) where the law requires it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date and version at the top. Your order records which version you accepted.

Contact: care@petcares.co.in for any privacy question or request.

Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

Last updated: October 5, 2026 · Version 2.2

This section applies to California residents and supplements our Privacy Policy. It describes the rights given by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.

LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED — whether the CCPA/CPRA applies to PetCares depends on thresholds (such as annual revenue and the volume of California consumers' data) that a lawyer must confirm. We describe these rights and honor the requests below regardless, but we do not claim that the law applies to us, or that we comply with every requirement it sets, until that review is done. Residents of other US states with consumer privacy laws may have similar rights; email us and we will respond.

Categories of personal information we collect

  • Identifiers — name, email address, phone number, hashed IP address; and, only with advertising consent, your IP address and Meta cookie identifiers.
  • Commercial information — products purchased, prices, order history.
  • Internet or other electronic network activity — browser user agent, download activity, and (with advertising consent) pages and events on our site.
  • General location — the US state you select at checkout.

We collect these from you directly, from your browser, and from Razorpay (payment status). We use them for the purposes listed in "Why we use it" above, and disclose them to the service providers listed in "Who we share it with". We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law.

Phone number: we ask for it at checkout and use it only for payment processing, fraud prevention and order support. It is shared with Razorpay to process your payment, and it is never sold, shared for advertising, or sent to Meta.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold it in the past 12 months. The Meta Pixel and Conversions API described above may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. We do this only after you press Accept on the cookie banner, and it never includes your name, email address, phone number or state. You can opt out at any time:

  • Change your cookie choice and press Decline; or
  • turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser — we treat it as a request to opt out, and the Meta Pixel is not loaded; or
  • email care@petcares.co.in with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share".

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Your rights

  • Right to know / access — the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to delete — subject to exceptions, such as records we must keep for tax purposes.
  • Right to correct inaccurate information.
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (see above).
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you service or charge a different price because you exercised a right.

How to make a request: email care@petcares.co.in from the address you used to order, and tell us which right you are exercising. We will verify your request by matching it to our order records, and may ask for your order number. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your signed permission. We aim to respond within 45 days, as California law provides.

Terms of Service

Last updated: September 30, 2026 · Version 2.0

These terms are an agreement between you and ANSYS, which operates PetCares ("we", "us"). By buying a guide or using petcares.co.in you agree to these terms, our Digital Product License, our Refund Policy and our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can buy

We currently sell only to customers in the United States. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to make a purchase, and you must use a payment method you are authorized to use.

2. What we sell

We sell digital PDF guides for personal use. There is no physical product and nothing is shipped. Each guide's page describes its content, format and page count before you buy.

3. Prices and payment

  • All prices are shown and charged in US dollars (USD). The price is the one shown at checkout when you pay.
  • Payment is processed by Razorpay. Because we are based in India, your card issuer may treat the payment as an international transaction and may charge its own foreign-transaction or cross-border fee. Any such fee is set by your card issuer, not by us.
  • An order is confirmed only after our server has verified the payment with Razorpay. Reaching a "success" page alone does not create a paid order.
  • We may change prices for future purchases. A price change never affects an order you have already paid for.

4. Sales tax

We do not currently add US sales tax to the price at checkout.

LEGAL/TAX REVIEW REQUIRED — several US states tax digital products such as downloadable e-books, and many require remote sellers to collect sales tax once "economic nexus" thresholds (sales volume or number of transactions into that state) are met. Whether and where PetCares must register and collect sales tax has not yet been determined by a qualified tax adviser. This section will be updated once it has; no tax position is stated or implied here.

5. Delivery and license

Delivery is described in our Digital Delivery Policy. Buying a guide gives you a personal-use license as described in our Digital Product License; it does not transfer copyright or ownership of our content to you.

6. Refunds

See our Refund Policy.

7. Educational content, not professional advice

Our guides are educational and are not veterinary advice. Please read our Disclaimer.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

We work hard to make our guides accurate and useful. Except as stated in these terms and in our Refund Policy, and to the extent permitted by law, our guides and website are provided "as is" and "as available", without other warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law: (a) we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your purchase or use of our guides or website; and (b) our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that purchase. Some states do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits any liability, or excludes any right you have, that cannot be limited or excluded under the law that applies to you.

10. Disputes

If something goes wrong, please email care@petcares.co.in first — most problems are solved quickly that way, and we will work with you in good faith to resolve it. If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us before disputing the charge with your bank so we can fix it directly.

LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED — the governing law, the forum for any dispute, and whether any arbitration agreement or class-action waiver will apply have not been decided. None is included in these terms, and none should be assumed, until a qualified lawyer has drafted them with US consumer-protection laws in mind. Nothing here waives any right you have under your state's consumer-protection laws.

11. Changes and general terms

We may update these terms; the version and date at the top will change, and the terms in force when you paid apply to that purchase. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.

Refund Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026 · Version 2.1

Our guides are digital files delivered instantly after payment, so there is nothing to return. We still want every purchase to work as promised, and we will make it right when it doesn't.

You are entitled to a refund if:

  • The file is defective — it is corrupted, will not open, or is missing pages, and we cannot send you a working copy.
  • You cannot access your purchase because of a problem on our side — for example, your download links never arrived or do not work — and we cannot restore your access.
  • The guide is materially not as described on its page (for example, a different topic, or far fewer pages than stated).
  • You were charged more than once for the same order.

If you bought the optional Ask the Dog Doctor add-on and only the add-on has a problem, we can refund the add-on on its own; you keep the main guide.

How to ask for a refund

Email care@petcares.co.in with your order number (it starts with "PC-") and a short description of the problem — a screenshot helps. Please contact us within 30 days of purchase, while your download links are still active, so we can check the files. We reply within our support hours (see Contact) and will first try to fix the problem; if we can't, we refund you.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to your original payment method through Razorpay, in US dollars, for the amount you paid for the affected item or order. How long it takes to appear depends on your card issuer. Once an order is fully refunded, its download links stop working.

Change of mind

Because you get the full guide immediately and a digital file cannot be returned, all sales are final: we do not refund a purchase because you changed your mind after it was delivered. Refunds are given only in the four cases listed above. If you are unhappy for another reason, please still write to us — we read every message.

This policy does not limit any right you have under the consumer-protection laws of your state.

Digital Delivery Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026 · Version 2.1

There is no physical shipping. After your payment is verified — usually within seconds — you will:

  • see a confirmation page with download buttons for each file in your order, and
  • receive an email at the address you gave at checkout, with your download links and your invoice.

Each download link is unique to your order, stays valid for 30 days, and can be used up to 10 times per file. Please save your PDF to your device. If you don't see the email within a few minutes, check your Spam or Promotions folder. If a link expires or stops working, email care@petcares.co.in with your order number and we'll reissue access.

Your invoice is issued in US dollars and is included in your confirmation email. No sales tax is added at checkout (see Sales tax in our Terms).

Digital Product License

Last updated: September 30, 2026 · Version 2.0

When you buy a PetCares guide, you receive a personal license to use that PDF. You do not receive our copyright or any ownership interest in it.

You may: download your guide, keep copies on your own devices, read it, and print it for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You may not: share, redistribute, resell, sublicense or publicly post the guide or your download link; upload it to file-sharing or AI-training services; or reproduce any part of it commercially, without our written permission.

The license is non-exclusive and non-transferable, and ends if you breach it or if your order is fully refunded. It does not restrict any right you have under law (such as fair use) that cannot be restricted by contract.

Copyright & DMCA Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026 · Version 2.0

All PetCares guides, cover artwork, illustrations, photography and website content are owned by us or used under license, and are protected by copyright law, including the copyright laws of the United States and India. "PetCares" and its branding are ours.

Not veterinary advice. PetCares guides are educational and informational. Our Dog guide helps you understand general dog body language and communication patterns. It is not veterinary advice, a medical or behavioral diagnosis, or a guarantee of any training or behavioral outcome.

Our content does not replace examination, diagnosis or treatment by a licensed veterinarian, emergency care, or an assessment by a qualified behaviorist or trainer. Every animal is different. If you are worried about your pet's health or behavior — and especially if your pet may be injured, ill, or has eaten something harmful — contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital right away.

Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026 · Version 2.1

Essential (always on): the browser storage needed to run checkout — a private order access key kept for the current tab while your payment completes (pc_at_<order>, session storage, cleared when the tab closes), your cookie choice (pc_consent_v1), and a marker that stops a purchase being reported twice if you reload the confirmation page (pc_fired_purchase_<order>). None of these is used for tracking, and checkout cannot work without them.

Advertising (only if you accept): the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., which tells us how many people who saw our ads went on to buy, and the value of those purchases in US dollars. When loaded it sets Meta's cookies (such as _fbp) and sends the events described in our Privacy Policy. It never receives your name, email address, phone number or state. It is not loaded at all until you press Accept, and declining leaves the site fully working.

What cookies and browser storage do not hold: none of the items on this page stores your name, email address or phone number.

Razorpay's payment window: it is loaded from checkout.razorpay.com only when you press pay, and may use its own cookies or storage to process and secure your payment. Those are governed by Razorpay's policies.

How consent works: on your first visit a banner asks whether you accept Meta's advertising cookies. Nothing from Meta loads while the banner is unanswered or if you press Decline. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as Decline and don't show the banner. Your answer is saved in your browser's local storage (pc_consent_v1) so you are not asked on every page; clearing your browser data resets it. If you have already answered, you can change your choice here. Withdrawing consent stops the Pixel from loading on future pages; cookies Meta has already set can be removed in your browser settings.

Third-party services in use: Razorpay (payments), Hostinger (hosting and order emails), and the Meta Pixel (advertising measurement, only with your consent). We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service, and our typefaces are served from our own website.

Contact & Complaints

Last updated: October 4, 2026 · Version 2.1
